NGTC Horticulture Students Receive National Awards

North Georgia Technical College’s horticulture students earned top rankings at the 41st Annual National Collegiate Landscape Competition held at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in March. The NGTC horticulture team placed 21st nationally, maintaining the college’s Top 25 rank for five consecutive years. NGTC competed against 63 other schools from both two-year and four-year colleges and major universities across the nation.

NGTC Students Win PBL District Awards

Several North Georgia Technical College students from the Blairsville and Clarkesville campuses recently competed in the Georgia North District Phi Beta Lambda competition at Reinhardt University and brought home numerous awards.

NGTC Announces New Dan Dixon Scholarship

North Georgia Technical College recently celebrated the life of Dan Dixon with his family and friends as a scholarship to the NGTC Foundation was created in his memory. Mr. Dixon taught masonry at the college for 30 years, and hundreds of students have enjoyed successful careers because of his efforts.


NGTC Blairsville Campus Offers 2 New Programs for Fall 2017

North Georgia Technical College announces a new Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program that will begin fall semester 2017 at the Blairsville NGTC Campus. Current nursing students interested in applying should be completing core course work to be ready for selected entry to the fall cohort class. Deadline for applying for the LPN is April 1. A total of 20 students may be selected for this competitive program, and they will be announced shortly after the current spring term of 2017 ends. North Georgia Technical College horticulture students recently returned from a hands-on, behind-the-scenes horticulture field trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, Fla., where gorgeous plants and lush greenery are an abundant learning tool.
