NGTC HVAC Students Lend Skills on Habitat House Project

The North Georgia Technical College Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program students recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a family in Lumpkin County. Habitat initially approached the Lumpkin County High School Industrial Technology class to build the houses, and they reached out to the HVAC program at NGTC to help on the project.

NGTC Hosts Irish Celebration for Study Abroad Program

North Georgia Technical College invites the community to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in true Irish style at “Green, Jeans and Irish Cuisine” scheduled from 6-9 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018, at the NGTC Currahee Campus.

Currahee Culinary Arts Program Receives Highest Accreditation Marks

North Georgia Technical College students in the Culinary Arts Program on the Currahee Campus are raising their utensils a little higher these days, after learning their program received an exemplary commendation by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEF).

NGTC Horticulture Students Explore the Magic of Disney

North Georgia Technical College horticulture students recently took their second annual trip to Disney World.

Daniel Hill Named NGTC's 2018 GOAL Winner

Daniel Hill of Rabun Gap, Ga., was named North Georgia Technical College’s 2018 Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership (GOAL) student at a recent Habersham Rotary meeting.  Nominated by his instructor Stacie Sulhoff, Hill is an accounting student at the Clarkesville Campus.

Craig Thurmond Named Georgia Green Industry Assn. Educator of the Year

North Georgia Technical College horticulture instructor Craig Thurmond was recently named 2018 Educator of the Year for the state of Georgia by the Georgia Green Industry Association (GGIA). The GGIA is a statewide trade association whose mission is to promote and advance the economic, lifestyle and environmental benefits of Georgia horticulture. Through education, legislative monitoring, certification exams, trade shows and conferences to the horticulture-related industries in the state, the GGIA is deeply rooted in the horticulture industry.
