Opening act Carly Burruss and headliner Joe DiffieNorth Georgia Technical College is celebrating 75 years with a free event for the community on Saturday, October 20. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. with a classic car cruise-in at the Clegg Center on NGTC’s Clarkesville Campus. The entry fee is $20 per car and prizes will be awarded. Entrance to the concert area opens at 5 p.m. with music from WCON. The United Community Bank food court will open at 5 p.m. featuring food from vendors with cuisines ranging from BBQ to Chinese.

Opening act, Carly Burruss, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Carly is currently touring the Southeast and has appeared onstage with Dwight Yoakam, Keith Urban, Ellie Holcomb and many others. She has played the pre-game show for the Atlanta Braves and was runner-up in the country songwriting category of the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest.

At 7:30 p.m., Joe Diffie will take the stage for 45 minutes of fun, family-friendly entertainment. With chart-toppers like “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun” and “John Deere Green,” and 13 albums with over 20 top 10 singles to his credit, Joe has little to prove in his career, yet still has a fire in his belly to make good country music. This Grammy winning artist has hits for artists like Tim McGraw, Conway Twitty and Jo Dee Messina. Following Joe, a fireworks spectacular will begin at 9 p.m.

Parking will be stationed around campus, with shuttles and hay rides to the concert area. The entire community is invited to come celebrate with NGTC. Commemorative 75th items will be available for sale including exclusive concert t-shirts and a history book, highlighting the college over the course of its history. The school will also be hosting a raffle for VIP couch seating to watch the concert, cash for the food trucks and NGTC swag bags. Tickets will be $5 and for sale at the event.

Guests are asked to bring blankets and lawn chairs. No coolers will be permitted. The North Georgia Technical College Student Government Association will also be collecting canned goods for their annual canned food drive. Donation locations will be stationed at the concert if you are able to bring donations.
