Clarkesville, GA — North Georgia Technical College students earned top honors at the 2017 Georgia Phi Beta Lambda state competition recently held in Atlanta.

The following students received awards in their respective state competitions: Andrea Wilson of Mt. Airy, Ga., earned first place in Business Communication and fifth place in Job Interview; Bailei Whitener of Blue Ridge, Ga., received second place in Personal Finance and fourth place in Accounting for Professionals; Daniel Hill of Clayton, Ga., received first place in both Financial Services and Financial Analysis and Decision Making; Luke Fountain of Clayton, Ga., received first place in Website Development; Matthew Duvall of Toccoa, Ga., received first place in Entrepreneurship Concepts and second place in Marketing Concepts; Ryan Fountain of Rabun Gap, Ga., placed second in Website Development and fifth in Computer Concepts; and Susie Berry of Cleveland, Ga., earned first place in Financial Services and third place in Business Law.

These students will represent North Georgia Technical College at the national Phi Beta Lambda competition which will be held in Anaheim, Calif., in June.

NGTC accounting instructor and Phi Beta Lambda advisor Tim Green accompanied the students on their trip and praised their academic efforts. “I cannot express my level of pride and excitement for these students,” said Green. “I am sure they will all apply themselves to their fullest ability at the national competition and make North Georgia Technical College and their families and friends proud of their accomplishment.”
