Clarkesville, GA – North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Economic Development department is currently accepting registrations for the Leadership Excellence And Development (LEAD) program and the Georgia Real Estate Pre-License course.
The LEAD program is a 12-week training program focused on developing individuals’ leadership skills. Subject-matter experts will address topics including emotional intelligence, continuous improvement, performance management, communicating and problem solving as a leader, and more. NGTC’s LEAD program will meet on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Aug. 14-Nov. 6, at the NGTC Currahee campus (9238 Highway 17 S, Toccoa). The cost of the training is $2,500, which may be reimbursed through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for individuals meeting certain criteria. The Georgia Real Estate Pre-License course provides 75 hours of training designed to prepare individuals for the Georgia Real Estate Salesperson exam. Course topics include real estate calculations, completing contracts, finance and closing, real estate law, and more. The course will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Aug. 5-Oct. 7, at the NGTC Industrial Technology Center (1500 Highway 197 N, Clarkesville). NGTC is currently accepting applications for all programs. The fall application deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 13. Additionally, all new and returning students who register for one or more credit-bearing courses by 11:59 p.m., Aug. 4, will be entered in a random drawing to win a $50 Visa gift card. Five winners will be selected, and all individuals who are currently registered for a fall course have been entered into the drawing. In addition to all programs aforementioned, the NGTC Commercial Truck Driving program has availability for both day and evening classes beginning Aug. 20 (Minimester A) or Oct. 15 (Minimester B) on the Clarkesville campus. This eight-week certificate program is designed to prepare individuals to complete the Georgia Road Skills exam and receive a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Acceptance for the Commercial Truck Driving and Electrical Lineworker programs will continue to be on a first-come, first-served basis. Both programs are eligible for 100% tuition coverage under the HOPE Career Grant. For additional aid, scholarships are available through the NGTC Foundation.
