Clarkesville, GA — The North Georgia Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees announces the second annual 1943 Gala “Boots and Bowties”, a festive fundraising event, is scheduled from 6-8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025.
This year’s 1943 Gala, named for the founding year of North Georgia Technical College (NGTC), raises funds for student scholarships as well as upgrades for the college’s transportation program, upgrades for the college dormitory, and equipment program needs for the newly announced Funeral Services Associate of Applied Science degree which is proposed to be offered in the near future.
“This is a very exciting time for our community to support our local technical college,” said NGTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing Amy Hulsey. “North Georgia Technical College is a true gem to have in our hometown, and our 1943 Gala is a wonderful, fun way for our community family and friends to personally make a difference and give to the lasting legacy of NGTC.”
Chair of the NGTC Board of Trustees Foundation Cassandra Wilkins of Toccoa says that helping fund the new Funeral Services program is one way the Foundation works to support the college’s needs for growth and student support. “Offering a new program that is needed in North Georgia is very exciting to support as a Foundation board,” Wilkins said. “We know that North Georgia Technical College offers so many opportunities for our future workforce and working to financially sustain student scholarships and offer new programs is an important mission we hope the community will enthusiastically support.”
The 1943 Gala will feature a live band, dancing, dinner, silent and live auctions and student spotlight testimonials, all on the beautiful Quadrangle in the center of the college’s Clarkesville campus. Individual tickets are $125, and family or corporate sponsorships are also available for purchase to support student scholarships and programming.
