Clarkesville, GA – The North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Foundation recently awarded 12 Dr. Mark A. Ivester Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $500 each for the 2024-2025 academic year. The scholarship recipients were composed of one graduating senior from each high school and Mountain Education campus in our eight-county service area.
Named after the college’s late president, the Dr. Mark A. Ivester Memorial Scholarship is reserved for students who have excelled in a career technical education program during high school and plan to continue their education at NGTC following graduation.

The NGTC Foundation offers award opportunities each semester from numerous scholarship funds, some of which award more than one scholarship. Students are expected to meet eligibility requirements and selection criteria, including a demonstrated financial need, as established by each individual scholarship. The Foundation’s scholarship application deadline for the fall 2024 semester is July 22, 2024. Students are encouraged to apply online at northgatech.edu/foundation. Applications must be submitted by the published deadline each semester.

The NGTC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created to enhance educational opportunities at NGTC. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of trustees made up of representatives from NGTC’s eight-county service area. The mission of the Foundation is to create awareness of the financial needs of the college and encourage donations of resources, which are managed wisely to assure quality education for its students. One way the Foundation Board of Trustees supports this mission is through the awarding of scholarships to deserving students with a demonstrated financial need.
