Clarkesville, GA — North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) recently announced a new articulation agreement with the University of North Georgia (UNG) aimed at facilitating student transfers and enhancing educational pathways in the field of education. This partnership will enable students who complete the Associate Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education at NGTC to seamlessly transition into the Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education program at UNG.

The agreement provides a formalized structure for course approvals, ensuring that students know exactly which NGTC courses will transfer to UNG, thereby promoting a smooth transition and reducing potential academic hurdles.

“We are very proud of this significant step to empower more students to achieve their educational goals,” said NGTC President John Wilkinson. “We are thankful to work with the University of North Georgia to provide this wonderful opportunity to help students reach their full potential.”

“North Georgia Technical College is proud to partner with the University of North Georgia to ensure students in the Early Childhood Care and Education Associate Degree program are able to maximize the benefits of their hard academic work and fulfill their goal of achieving a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education,” said NGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Stephanie Benson. “The articulation agreement allows students to know precisely which courses they need for a smooth transition and strengthens our efforts to help students complete programs of study in our local community that fill a critical workforce need.”

To qualify for the transfer under this agreement, students must complete their Associate Degree with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. This initiative not only supports students in their academic journey but also addresses the growing demand for qualified educators in the region.

Both institutions are committed to providing quality education and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes student success. This articulation agreement is a significant step in enhancing educational opportunities and supporting the workforce needs of North Georgia.
