Through qualified instruction in up-to-date facilities we offer degree, diploma, and certificate program options. Opportunities for continual educational growth may be pursued at the university level.
Students have the opportunity to specialize in:
- Small Business Management: Small Business Management will help you develop a working knowledge in areas including essentials for starting, managing and growing a small business.
- Human Resource Management: Human resources managers plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization's management and its employees.
- Marketing Management: The marketing manager job description varies by company and industry, however, most need to oversee the multiple communication channels they use to promote the business. A marketing manager is someone who manages the marketing of a business or product. They can be responsible for several services or products, or be in charge of a single product. A marketing manager needs to have an outgoing, gregarious, and spontaneous nature.
- General Business Management: is a specialization that you can choose to select courses specific to your goals and objectives within the management program.
Program graduates who are experienced workers are prepared to perform management and supervisory functions such as planning and decision making, employee training, labor relations, employee evaluation, employee counselling and disciplinary action.
JOB AND CAREER POTENTIAL: A manager is one who supervises others, decides the daily priorities of the business or office, delegates projects and coordinates teams to me the goals of the organization. Managers must have persuasive and clear communication skills, analytical minds able to digest large amounts of data quickly, and the skill to evaluate complex relationships among numerous factors. Additionally, managers exhibit personal qualities such as leadership, flexibility, self-confidence, motivation, determination, and sound business judgment.
Business Management Degree
The Business Management program is designed to prepare students for entry into management and supervisory occupations in a variety of businesses and industries. Learning opportunities will introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement in management. Graduates of the program receive a Business Management degree with a specialization in General Management, Small Business Management, Marketing Management, or Human Resource Management.
Business Management Diploma
The Business Management program is designed to prepare students for entry into management positions in a variety of businesses and industries. Learning opportunities will introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement in management. Graduates of the program receive a Business Management diploma.

Meet the Faculty
Monica Christensen has over 20 years combined in Business Management and as an educator. Monica, having a BS in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College & State University, began her career as a public school teacher. She then obtained her Masters of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Troy University. Monica then entered the business arena where she created and grew the Human Resource program at a manufacturing company, before she became their Vice President of Operations. She is a member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management), a recipient of the VIP award from the National Association of Professional Women, and a proud volunteer of March of Dimes and Relay for Life. Monica is excited to be combining her two loves, Business Management and Education here at NGTC.
