Credentials You Can Earn

North Georgia Technical College’s Electrical Systems Technology diploma program provides instruction in the inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems. The Commercial Wiring technical certificate provides instruction specific to a commercial setting. The Advanced Manufacturing Systems diploma and degree programs provide skills for technician careers, including electronics, industrial wiring, motors, controls, PLC’s, instrumentation, fluid power, mechanical, pumps and piping, and computers.

Degrees

Applied Technical Management Degree

The Applied Technical Management degree program allows students who complete a diploma in a TCSG program area to continue to a degree. In addition to the skills and knowledge obtained in the diploma, the student will obtain degree-level general education knowledge and business-related skills and knowledge. Students who earn the Electrical Systems Technology Diploma are eligible to apply for the Applied Technical Management Degree program. Graduates of the program receive an Applied Technical Management Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Advanced Manufacturing Systems Degree

The Advanced Manufacturing Systems degree program prepares students for a career as an industrial systems technician/electrician. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade present knowledge and skill. The degree program teaches skills in Advanced Manufacturing Systems providing background skills in several areas of industrial maintenance including electronics, industrial wiring, motors, controls, PLC’s, instrumentation, fluid power, mechanical, pumps and piping, and computers. Graduates of the program receive an Advanced Manufacturing Systems degree that qualifies them for employment as industrial electricians or industrial systems technicians. Graduates of the program receive an Advanced Manufacturing Systems Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Diplomas

Electrical Systems Technology Diploma

The Electrical Systems Technology diploma program provides instruction in the inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems in the residential, commercial, and industrial industries. A combination of theory and practical application is emphasized to develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills. Program graduates receive a diploma in Electrical Systems Technology with a specialization in residential applications.

Advanced Manufacturing Systems Diploma

The Advanced Manufacturing Systems diploma program prepares students for a career as an industrial systems technician/electrician. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade present knowledge and skill.
