Credentials You Can Earn

The Applied Business Technology AAS provides students with a group of customer service specialty courses, general education courses, work experience in a related area, and a series of courses in a specialty area. Graduates have qualifications to work in a variety of fields based on the student's area of specialty: paraprofessional and leadership.

Occupational courses include:

  • Applied Business Technology field experience/internship
  • Service industry business environment
  • Customer contact skills
  • Computer skills for customer service
  • Business skills for the customer
  • Personal effectiveness in customer service

Depending on which specialization a student chooses, other curriculum may include:

Paraprofessional Specialization:

  • Intro to Early Childhood Care and Education
  • Child growth and development
  • Health, safety, and nutrition
  • Curiculum and assessment
  • Creative activities for children
  • Language and literacy
  • Math and science
  • Exceptionalities
  • Principles of economics

Leadership Specialization:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Principles of management
  • Organizational behavior

Degree

Applied Business Technology Degree

The Applied Business Technology AAS is a sequence of courses that provides students with a group of customer service specialty courses, general education courses, work experience in a related area, and a series of courses in a specialty area.  Graduates have qualifications to work in a variety of fields based on the student's area of specialty. The areas of specialties are leadership and paraprofessional. Graduates of the program receive an Applied Business Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree.


Diploma

Applied Business Technology Diploma

The Applied Business Technology diploma program provides students with a group of customer service specialty courses, general education courses, work experience in a related area, and a series of courses in a specialty area. Graduates have qualifications to work in a variety of fields based on the student's area of specialty: leadership or paraprofessional. Graduates of the program receive an Applied Business Technology diploma.

Meet the Faculty

 

 

Staci Sulhoff

Staci Sulhoff has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur where she has built and sold several companies.  She has owned Michael Graf’x Photography since 2005 where she is a full-time photographer.  She holds BA’s in Business Administration (Marketing) and (Graphic Design).  She received her MBA in Business Administration from Piedmont College.    Mrs. Sulhoff is a member of several professional organizations including AMA (American Marketing Asso.), AIGA (American Institute for Graphic Arts), and Delta Mu Delta, Int’l (Honor Society for ACBSP, School of Business) and she currently serves on the Board of Advisors for YMCA Camp Cosby.  She loves teaching in higher education and joined NGTC as a full time faculty in 2017.
