Electrical Lineworker Certificate

Credentials You Can Earn


NGTC’s Electrical Lineworker Apprentice Program is completed in one mini-mester term. Students entering the Electrical Lineworker program must be program ready; needing no learning support courses. Also, students must submit a report of a negative (acceptable) DOT drug test completed one week prior to the beginning of the first day of class.

Class curriculum includes:

  1. Electrical Lineworker Organization Principles
  2. Electrical Lineworker Workplace Skills
  3. Electrical Lineworker Automation Skills
  4. Electrical Lineworker Occupational Skills



Electrical Lineworker Certificate

The Electrical Lineworker certificate program provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment as an entry-level lineworker with electrical utility companies, both public and private. Topics include lineworker organization principles, lineworker workplace skills, lineworker automations skills, and lineworker occupational skills.

Individuals who graduate from NGTC's Electrical Lineworker Certificate program can hit the ground running if they choose to become:

Meet the Faculty



Hoyt Winkler

Hoyt Winkler began teaching at North Georgia Technical College in 2008 when the Electrical Lineworker Program was started.  He has more than 25 years of occupational experience and is certified to teach Commercial Truck Driving and Traffic Flagging.  Mr. Winkler is a Commercial Motor Vehicle Examiner and the  college has a third party testing facility for licensing.  Contact:  hwinkler@northgatech.edu.
