Credentials You Can Earn
Most degree programs require core classes in English, math, humanities, science, psychology, or speech. Students unsure about their career path can take degree-level courses as part of certificate programs such as Health Care Science or Technical Specialist. Extra benefits include HOPE Grant eligibility and measurable progress toward a future degree.
NGTC‘s Technical Specialist program offers a certificate for those who want to delay making a decision regarding their area of specialization:
- Technical Specialist Certificate
The NGTC official definition for General Education/Core program: To prepare students for positions in business that require technical proficiency to translate technical information to various audiences and in various formats using written and oral communication skills.
Individuals who graduate from NGTC’s Technical Specialist Certificate program are prepared to transfer to a 4-year college OR to start the path toward becoming a Technical Writer.
While most Technical Writer positions require a 4-year degree, you can get a good head start on that at NGTC.
Graduates of the General Education/Core program may prepare to work in a variety of fields that require skills acquired through this program such as:
- prepare instruction manuals
- prepare journal articles
- create supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information
