As the Electrical and Controls Technician you will be part of the Maintenance Team, your primary responsibilities include taking the lead role in electrical and controls troubleshooting, ensuring the daily functioning of machines. Help identify required spare parts inventory and critical spare min/max levels. Ensure machines and facilities are consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition; and perform related work as required.
This is an experienced, professional-level classification in Maintenance. It requires strong electrical troubleshooting ability, to include experience with 3 phase power, relay logic, machine controls and understanding PLC logic and controls. Performance requires the ability to work in a team environment and independently with initiative and professionalism within established guidelines.
Duties & responsibilities: (Note: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required).
• You will be the in-house expert on all electrical and controls issues with manufacturing equipment.
• Source repairs and replacement parts including working with engineering on process enhancements and controls upgrades.
• Work “hands on” as part of the Maintenance team on machine breakdowns, repairs, and improvements.
• Willing to come in off hours in the event of a breakdown of critical manufacturing equipment.
• Work with the Continuous Improvement Team to implement 5S improvement activities and to maintain the achieved standards through audit and prompt corrective action.
• Share knowledge of ‘best practice’ with others to raise the Company’s overall standard of performance.
• Undertake specific improvement projects relating to the operation and/or Company-wide improvement activity which may require leadership or support.
• Work co-operatively with all other departments and always communicate effectively.
• Encourage a culture of trust, teamwork, openness, and co-operation throughout the Company.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required, from time to time, during the job holder’s
time with the Company.
