Alumni Awards

1. If an alumnus/alumna, the candidate must have graduated from NGTC at least 20 years prior to nomination.

2. The candidate must have distinguished himself/herself in his/her professional life.

3. There should be evidence that the nominee would appreciate the award.

4. Current NGTC employees are not eligible for consideration. 

1. Candidate must have graduated from North Georgia Technical College five or less years ago.

2. Candidate must have made outstanding contributions in his/her profession and/or community service.

2. Nominee must be working in the field in which he/she studied at NGTC and must have distinguished himself/herself in his/her career. (i.e., been named the company’s Employee of the Year, been promoted into middle or upper management position, established a successful business and/or been recognized by professional peers, etc.)

3. Nominee must be respected by fellow employees and by citizens of their community.

1. Nominee must have been involved with NGTC for a minimum of ten years and served on an NGTC board, advisory committee or as a donor.

2. Candidate must have distinguished himself/herself in his/her professional life.

  • 2015 – Leon Osborne – Owner – Osborne Wood Products, a steadfast and loyal supporter of NGTC – specifically the Engineering Technology Program for which he is a member of the advisory board. His commitment to local civic and social organizations is outstanding, and his support and dedication to the college is exemplified in his enthusiasm for offering internships and hiring NGTC graduates.
  • 2016 – Bob Evans – served as Chairman of NGTC’s Board of Directors, Trustee Emeritus of NGTC Foundation Board, Quick Start Advisory Board, Vice President of Technical College System of Georgia Board of Directors, along with Jim Marlowe developed the GOAL program for the State of Georgia.
  • 2017 – Lewis Kelley – served as a Foundation Trustee and played a key role in donating funds to re-instate the LPN Program in Blairsville

  • 2019 – Alice Roland Brewer – CTAE Director at Habersham Central High School, helped develop processes to assist NGTC in registering students for dual enrollment programs, served on the Business & Computer Sciences Advisory Board, and was instrumental in the development of the welding partnership between NGTC and the high school.

  • 2022 – Julia Barnett (instrumental in assisting NGTC with the start-up of the Associate of Science degree in Nursing and Practical Nursing. She serves as a frequent keynote speaker at NGTC medical pinning ceremonies and works to provide clinical rotations at Union General Hospital for NGTC students.)
  • 2023 – Kevin Panter – owner of Kevin Panter Insurance.  Mr. Panter has been on the Business Technology Advisory Committee for the past six years.   Mr. Panter is a loyal supporter of technical education and of NGTC Local FBLA Collegiate Chapter.  His encourages his employees to continue their college education and has hired several NGTC graduates.
  • 2024 – Clint Simmons (Welding, 1998) Mr. Simmons currently serves as the Director of Operations at Patterson Pump.  His dedication to NGTC is evident through his service on the Welding Advisory Committee, organizing tours, and advocating for technical education.
