NGTC’s diploma and degree accounting programs prepare students for success in today’s technology-driven workplace. Experienced instructors teach accounting principles and production of financial records using a variety of methods, including spreadsheets and database management systems.
Students also learn to use leading accounting and professional tax preparation software. Graduates are eligible for a variety of careers including bookkeeper, payroll or accounting clerk, tax preparer, or financial clerk.
Accounting classes are offered both days and evenings and are offered online or broadcast to the other campuses using the virtual classroom option, giving students more flexibility in where they attend class. Instructors will also travel between the campuses to ensure students have access for questions and advisement.
Accounting students, along with students in other related business programs such as Business Technology, Business Management, and Computer Information Systems, may participate in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). This national organization gives students a chance to contribute to their community as well as to compete with their peers across the state and nation.
