Business Technology

The Business Technology program can give you skills you need to be successful in this growing field. From major corporations to independent businesses, every operation needs skilled administrators to improve communication in the workplace and enhance business operations. By studying areas related to administration, technology, accounting, marketing, social media and even human resources, you could become the go-to person in a busy office. 

Business Technology offers programs to prepare students for success in today’s challenging career fields and work environment. Through qualified instruction in up-to-date facilities and flexible schedules, we offer degree, diploma, and certificate program options.

Social Media: Social Media will prepare students to create and administer content on all social media platforms to build an audience and ensure customer engagement.  Students will also receive instruction on monitoring site metrics, responding to reader comments, and overseeing creative designs.

Project Management: Project Management will prepare students to work in diverse industries. Students will gain the skills to compile paperwork and set up meetings to take a project from start to finish.  Students will learn strong communication and organizational skills.

Office Management: Office Management will help prepare students to plan, direct, and coordinate activities that help an organization run efficiently.  Students will gain the knowledge and skills to perform word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in an office environment. 

Human Resources: Human Resources will prepare students to support the planning, coordinating, and directing of the workforce functions of an organization. Key skills include communication, decision-making, interpersonal, and organizational.

The Business Technology degree program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in today’s technology-driven workplaces.  The program provides learning opportunities, which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.  The program emphasizes the use of software and technology. Students are introduced to accounting fundamentals, electronic communications, internet research, and electronic file management. The program includes instruction in effective communication skills and terminology that encompasses office management and executive assistant qualifications and technology innovations for the office. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of administrative technology.

Associates Degree

The Business Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in today’s technology-driven workplaces. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications software. Students are also introduced to accounting fundamentals, electronic communications, internet research, and electronic file management. The program includes instruction in effective communication skills and terminology that encompasses office management and executive assistant qualifications and technology innovations for the office. Graduates of the program receive a Business Technology Associate of Applied Science degree with a specialization in one of the following: Office Management, Human Resources, or Social Media, Project Management

Diploma

The Business Technology diploma program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in today’s technology-driven workplaces. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications software. Students are also introduced to accounting fundamentals, electronic communications, internet research, and electronic file management. The program includes instruction in effective communication skills and technology that encompasses office management and executive assistant qualifications and technology innovations for the office. Also provided are opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of business administrative technology. Graduates of the program receive a Business Technology diploma.
