For Parents

Maybe you were thinking...

What makes NGTC unique, anyway?

NGTC is the very first technical college in Georgia and is one of only two technical colleges in Georgia to offer on-campus housing (Clarkesville). NGTC offers a wide variety of programs that can be completed in as little as 8 weeks or up to 2 years. Our staff is amazing and supportive, and our small-town mountain surroundings are scenic, quiet, clean, and safe.

My child is already busy. Does NGTC have flexible class options?

Life happens. We know that balancing college, work, and family life is important. Online classes are available in most program areas. Hybrid classes, combining online and face-to-face learning, are very popular. Both day and evening classes are available at all three campuses.

Can they really do this? What if we need help?

First of all, yes. You can do this. And everyone needs help sometimes – we’re here to help you at every step. When you enroll, you’ll be paired with an academic advisor in your program of study to help guide you through class registration, progress toward graduation, future job placement, and more.

Each campus has a Student Success Coach to help you navigate college life, and prepare you for those soft skills you’ll need to succeed after college.

You’ll have access to academic tutors both in-person and online through our Student Success Centers. Support services are here if you need learning accommodations, and on-campus jobs are also available.

When you are about to complete your program, NGTC’s Career Center will help you with your job search, and offers employability workshops, resumé building, and other resources.
