Choose the option that best describes you to view the appropriate checklist:

New Student FAFSA® Checklist & Information

For Federal Aid:
  1. Create or login with your FSA ID (username and password). All individuals are required to have a verified FSA ID, and this can take 3-5 business days. Do THIS before filling out your FAFSA®.
  2. Start your portion of the 2024-2025 FAFSA® by visiting Start or Edit a 2024-25 FAFSA® Form.
  3. Make sure NGTC’s Federal School Code of 005619 is included on your FAFSA®.
  4. Follow instructions provided by U.S. Department of Education to invite a contributor(s) or electronically sign and submit your FAFSA®.
  5. Double check to make sure you submitted your FAFSA® (as opposed to saving your application). A successful submission results in a confirmation email.
For state aid only (HOPE Programs):
  1. Create or login to GAFutures.
  2. Submit your GSFAPP Application.
  3. Email NGTC’s Financial Aid Office at finaid@northgatech.edu after submission.

What’s next?
  1. The U.S. Department of Education will process your application and submit this to NGTC, provided our school code is entered. Because the FAFSA® has changed, NGTC will not receive your information before mid-March.

  2. NGTC will review your 2024-2025 FAFSA® and request any additional documentation required for your financial aid file, if needed. The Financial Aid Office reviews applications in the order received.

  3. Check your BannerWeb account for estimated award information.
