Clarkesville, GA — The North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently awarded $23,860 in scholarships to students enrolled at the college for spring semester 2023. Scholarship assistance ranged from $200 to $1500 per student and included tuition and fees, books and dormitory fees.

“The Foundation at North Georgia Technical College awards numerous scholarships thanks to so many generous donors in our community who want to make technical education possible for students who need extra financial assistance,” said NGTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Executive Director of the Foundation Amy Hulsey. “Our Foundation Board of Trustees oversee our scholarship awards, and they all have a true passion for assisting students who have the desire to learn new skills to become more employable. We are very proud and congratulate all of our spring semester scholarship recipients.”

Scholarships are offered fall, spring and summer semesters to students in various programs at all three NGTC college campuses: Clarkesville, Blairsville and Currahee. Scholarship applications for summer semester are currently open and the deadline for submission is Thursday, April 27. Scholarship applications can be viewed, along with submission information, at northgatech.edu/foundation. Summer semester begins May 22.

The NGTC Foundation raised more than $36,000 last November for their very first National Day of Giving campaign for student scholarships. The mission of the Foundation is to create awareness of the financial needs of the college and encourage donations of resources which are managed wisely to assure quality education for its students. One way the Foundation Board of Trustees supports this mission is through the awarding of scholarships to deserving students with a demonstrated financial need.

The NGTC Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, was created in 2000 to enhance educational opportunities at North Georgia Technical College. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of trustees made up of representatives from NGTC’s eight-county service area. Membership includes college alumni as well as local business and community leaders.
