Clarkesville, GA – North Georgia Technical College Board of Directors member Jane Brackett of Blue Ridge, Ga., was recently recognized for 10 years of leadership and committed service at the June NGTC Board of Directors meeting.
“It is an honor to present Jane with this commemorative plaque in appreciation for her many years of service,” said NGTC Board of Directors Chair Mitchel Barrett. “Jane will be greatly missed, but we know she will continue to support and advocate for the college.”
Brackett has a Bachelor of Arts in Math from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Tennessee. She and her husband, Tom, moved to Fannin County, Ga., in 1978, where they raised two sons. Brackett worked in information systems at an industrial chemicals plant for 29 years before transitioning to a self-employed information technology (IT) consultant in 2001.
Now retired, Brackett and her husband enjoy gardening, hiking, traveling, and spending time with their grandchildren. In addition to serving on the NGTC Board of Directors, Brackett has dedicated her time to numerous scholarship committees, a literacy group, a women’s health education council, and youth enrichment programs.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Jane for her 10 years of service and leadership to the NGTC Board of Directors,” said NGTC President John Wilkinson. “We are grateful for her support and dedication to helping our college succeed.”
