Clarkesville, GA — North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) recently named Matthew Mashburn as the campus director for the Blairsville campus.

Mashburn’s professional background is largely focused in the educational space. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Georgia and has previously worked as a public school teacher in an alternative education program. He was also a college admissions professional involving recruitment and advising. Mashburn has extra experience in sales and purchasing with the manufacturing industry.

“We are excited to have Mr. Mashburn on our NGTC leadership team,” said NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester. “He has spent many years in higher education administration. He is a native of the Blairsville area, and his knowledge and understanding of the area will be very valuable to his position as campus director. He is a huge advocate of students and sincerely cares about their success and the success of the communities in the extreme North Georgia region.”

“The friendly, family atmosphere of all who work together here is evident, and that spirit of community will continue to help our students, and one another, grow and thrive,” said Mashburn when asked about the best part of working for NGTC.

Mashburn and his family are members of the First Methodist Church of Union County, where he volunteers his time to the children’s recreational program. He also serves as a tournament director and course caretaker at Meeks Park disc golf course. He likes to spend the rest of his free time with his wife and children, listening to music and landscaping.
