Clarkesville, GA — North Georgia Technical College’s Practical Nursing students from the Currahee campus recently received their pins in a private graduation ceremony at the college. Pinning ceremonies are a traditional nursing practice that honors students prior to beginning their careers in healthcare.
“I am so proud of our 2020 Practical Nursing students,” said NGTC License Practical Nursing instructor Kim Randall. “These nursing students have worked so hard this year, especially since March, due to online learning and live review of clinical scenarios. Our pinning ceremony was very small this year due to social distancing to protect our students, families and staff members, but I feel it was the most special pinning ceremony ever. I’m so happy every student had a time to shine and be recognized for their hard work and for becoming a graduate nursing student.”
“These students deserve a wonderful recognition,” said NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester. “We are very pleased we could conduct a pinning ceremony with a minimal amount of people present because each of these students persevered through some very difficult times to meet their educational goals. We are incredibly proud of each one of them and wish them the very best in their future healthcare career.”
