Clarkesville, GA – North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Foundation recently received a $2,500 donation from United Community Bank (UCB) Foundation for The Mark capital campaign presented by NGTC Foundation Board of Trustees Member and UCB Habersham President Tim Ash.
UCB Foundation’s donation will support the development and operations of the Dr. Mark A. Ivester Center for Living and Learning and the Cy Grant Gymnasium. Dr. Ivester, the college’s late president, worked relentlessly for more than 20 years in various leadership capacities to ensure every student had access to the necessary resources to succeed at NGTC. The Dr. Mark A. Ivester Center for Living and Learning, or The Mark, is intended to memorialize his legacy by providing a community wellness and learning center to further support the needs of NGTC students.
Present to receive the award from the North Georgia Technical College Foundation included NGTC Foundation Board Chairman David Tinsley, NGTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Executive Director of the Foundation Amy Hulsey, and NGTC President John Wilkinson.
“We are grateful for Tim’s leadership and dedication to the North Georgia Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees,” said NGTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing Amy Hulsey. “We are thankful for United Community Bank Foundation’s donation and value their commitment to the success of our students. This contribution to ‘The Mark’ will help provide new space for mental health wellness areas and designated fitness areas, as well as future classrooms for academic programming. We are excited for the continuation of this community project that will see construction in the new year.”
