Clarkesville, GA — North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received a $5000 donation from Jackson Electric Membership Corporation for electric lineworker student scholarships.

Two $2500 scholarships will be awarded to students who are registered in the electrical line program at either the Clarkesville or Blairsville campus and have an unmet financial need. One scholarship will be awarded for fall semester 2022 and the second scholarship will be awarded spring semester 2023.

“We are very pleased to partner with Jackson EMC to encourage students to pursue electrical line as a very rewarding career,” said NGTC President John Wilkinson. “Our students and faculty are very appreciative of the support they receive from our corporate donors throughout the academic year. We are very grateful for their continued support of our college.”

“Jackson EMC has a long-standing relationship with students and faculty of North Georgia Tech. Many of our apprentice linemen complete the North Georgia Tech Electrical Lineworker certificate program,” said Kelly Grizzle, Jackson EMC Director of Talent Acquisition and Employment. “This scholarship opportunity will allow students to learn about electric cooperatives and the co-op difference – we’re about member satisfaction and service to the community.”

For more information regarding the scholarship or to apply for the electric lineworker program, visit northgatech.edu or call 706-654-7700. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 22 and the application deadline is July 21.
