Clarkesville, GA – Thirteen photography students from North Georgia Technical College received honors during the Georgia Mountain Fair 2021 Photography Exhibit and Contest held virtually from August 16-21, 2021. Overall, NGTC received five awards and eight honorable mentions.
Davis White of Baldwin, Ga. claimed second place while Elizabeth Fry of Clarkesville, Ga., Sophie Kovitz of Lawrenceville, Ga., Briana Townsend of Fairmount, Ga. and Syara White of Savannah, Ga. each received fifth place.
Students receiving an honorable mention were Austin Bowden of Homer, Ga., Jarrod Coffey of Martinez, Ga., Jessica Eash of Clarkesville, Ga., Desiree Rasor of Morganton, Ga., Savannah Sanchez of Tiger, Ga., Kirsten Scott of Ellijay, Ga., Carson Sprinkle of Clarkesville, Ga. and Valerie Williams of Valdosta, Ga.
The students participated under the advisement of photography instructors Jim Loring and Melissa Henderson, and each student received a prize check and ribbon to confer their winning entry.
“We are very proud of each of these students for their work and talent showcased in these photographs,” said NGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Mindy Glander. “Our photography program continues to shine and attract top-notch students who produce amazing work under the instruction of our excellent instructors. We wish all these students continued success!”
