Clarkesville, GA – North Georgia Technical College’s Air Conditioning Technology program was recently granted reaccreditation by HVAC Excellence. Established in 1994, HVAC Excellence seeks to improve the technical competency of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industry through validation of program standards.
Programmatic accreditation consists of an independent, third-party review of an educational program comparing it to established, industry standards. According to HVAC Excellence, these standards are designed to ensure the future workforce receives the quality training required to succeed in the HVACR industry.
NGTC completed a detailed, comprehensive self-study, which demonstrated compliance with each of the required industry standards, and hosted a team for an intense, onsite review of the program. Upon a thorough review of all documentation presented by the administration, faculty, and onsite accreditation team, the HVAC Excellence accreditation review board unanimously reaffirmed accreditation of the program. NGTC’s Air Conditioning Technology program has been accredited since 2003.
“We are exceptionally proud of the work that our program faculty and college staff have done to achieve and maintain programmatic accreditation with HVAC Excellence,” said NGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Mindy Glander. “North Georgia Technical College values the accreditation process, which provides us with the opportunity to continuously look for ways to improve our program and what we provide in the quality education we offer to our stakeholders – students and the community.”
