Clarkesville, GA — Seven students from North Georgia Technical College received high honors at the virtual SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary Awards Ceremony held April 5, 2021. Overall, NGTC received 5 gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the state-wide competition. 

Students receiving gold medals included Branka Metz, from Cleveland, Ga., in Commercial Baking; Olivia Bladowski of Toccoa, Ga., in Restaurant Services; Dawn McCall of Miami Beach, Fla., in Culinary Arts; Hannah Jones of Rockmart, Ga., in TV Production; and Carson Sprinkle of Clarkesville, Ga., in TV Production. 

Receiving a silver medal was Brianna Townsend of Fairmont, Ga., in Photography. A bronze medal in Photography was awarded to Syara White of Savannah, Ga.  


Faculty advisors for these students are Chris Bladowski, Jim Loring and Melissa Henderson. 

“We congratulate these students for their exceptional hard work and talent in these areas,” said NGTC President John Wilkinson. “We are proud of how they have represented North Georgia Technical College and earned high honors for their dedication to their skill and education. We wish them the best as they continue their competition at the national level.” 

The gold medal winners will compete at the next level which will be a virtual competition scheduled in mid June.
