Job Description: 

HVAC/R Technician is responsible for maintaining all HVAC/Refrigeration equipment at True North Energy Solutions customer locations. The HVAC/R Technician will work closely with all other Service Technicians, Service Manager/Dispatcher, Director of True North Operations and site personnel. Emphasis is placed on safety, consistency, teamwork, positive work attitude, excellent customer service and maintaining exceptional overall store and restaurant operating
conditions. HVAC/R Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Service Manager.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC/Refrigeration Equipment.
  • Inspect current HVAC and Refrigeration systems for effectiveness and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Refrigeration systems to increase longevity of the equipment.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • List of Equipment (including, but not limited to: RTU’s, condensers, evaporators, walk in coolers/freezers, open air coolers, upright coolers/freezers, and ice machines.)
  • Maintain organized inventory on service truck.
  • Maintain Service Vehicles (Keep Interior/Exterior Clean and Oil/Service On Time and up to date)
  • Complete all jobs through maintenance service software.
  • On Call/Emergency service based on assignment/rotation.

Working Conditions

Maintenance/Service working environment involves some exposure to conditions including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain/snow/ice/wind and extended exposure to the sun. Handling of petroleum products. Exposure to HVACR related chemicals. Operating machinery, hand tools, soldering torches, working on roof tops & in attics, climbing ladders, extended driving time and noise. Physical demands are moderate to heavy lifting/carrying at least 50 pounds, or more (with assistance).

Education/Experience: 

Education and Experience: No degree requirements. EPA certification. Any equivalent of training desired, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 2 years or more of experience desired.
