Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled Tool and Die Maker to craft, maintain and repair precision tools and dies in accordance with our project needs.

You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, carrying out the fabrication process, performing quality checks and conducting necessary repairs or adjustments.

Our ideal candidate is highly proficient in the use of precision measurement tools, has an eye for detail and possesses a deep understanding of metal properties and fabrication techniques.

The goal is to produce high quality parts and tools by following standard tool and die making procedures and ensure productivity and efficiency.

Tool and Die Maker has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models to gain a comprehensive understanding of the required parts
  • Use machine tools to manufacture tools, dies, and machine parts
  • Measure finished parts to ensure they meet specifications using precise measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Assemble, disassemble, and test products to ensure functionality and quality
  • Repair damaged or worn out tools and dies
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Coordinate with engineers and other production staff to understand specific requirements and to troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with safety regulations
  • Perform regular maintenance on machine tools to ensure optimal performance

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints or design specifications to develop tools and dies.
  • Operate and maintain machines including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Perform quality checks on completed tools and dies to ensure they are function-ready.
  • Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Modify and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges as required.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Desired/Required Skills: 

  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other material.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools.

Education/Experience: 

  • Technical degree or certification in engineering, manufacturing technology, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker.

Salary: {Salary:18} / Per Hour
